Composing Background, Education, or Experience: A talented composer and multi-instrumentalist, Craig is equally at home composing for orchestra as he is with synthesizers, world music instruments, and computers. He has been performing and writing music since the late 80s. He continues to compose and record classical, electronic, rock, blues, jazz and world music for a variety of video game and film projects. Most recently as a freelancer; he has composed and recorded the orchestral score for an upcoming video game release for Telos Entertainment due to hit stores later this year. He was also Music Supervisor for the project. Craig is currently the sound designer for three upcoming mobile games for Yodoki, the first of which will be available in the fall of 2009. He is also composing the electronic music and sound effects for another for mobile project for Telos Entertainment.
Craig holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from the University of Prince Edward Island, and a Specialist Certificate in Orchestrating and Producing Music for Film and Video Games from the Berklee School of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Prior to that, he attended Memorial University in Newfoundland. Throughout his studies, Craig placed special emphasis on the symphonic styles of the Romantic era composers, including the programmatic music of Franz Liszt and Hector Berlioz (particularly the symphonic poem) and a focus on the music of 20th century Russian composers including Dmitri Shostakovich and Igor Stravinsky. Over the past few years, he has worked on a number of recording projects as a performer, writer/composer, engineer and producer. In 1996 he was awarded the Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent on Recordings (FACTOR) New Talent Demo Award for a collection of his Latin-inspired compositions.
