Composing Background or Education: University of Hull (specialising in composition) I have worked on film scores, composing for commissions and other freelance music projects.

Philosophy as a Composer: ‘A composer knows that music is written by human beings for human beings and that music is a continuation of life, not something separated from it.’ Hanns Eisler I believe that music without text has the potential to engage in critical reflexivity concerning culture. This is why critical thought never leaves my mind when i compose; the potential that art has to provide a critical social commentary leaves some responsibility to the artists within a culture. To provoke thought in the digestible form of entertainment, as those who accept uncritically are easily controlled by structures of the state.
