Description: I am looking for someone to score a short 17 minute film. The film was produced by Condne Films (www.condnefilms.com), who have produced 3 feature films and a variety of short films. The final product will be submitted to an array of national and international film festivals. The film is 17 minutes. It’s about a man with an unhealthy attachment to his sister. His desire for his sister, that he knows is wrong, leads him to kill his brother-in-law out of jealousy. After the murder he locks himself in his empty apartment where he resolves to kill himself after 3 days. Once in the room he imagines 2 versions of himself (essentially a manifestation of his guilt/good side and his evil side). Throughout the film he converses between these 2 sides in an effort to discover which side is real. As he slowly looses grip on reality , secrets from his past spill out. In the end he’ll have ti either kill himself or accept his evil and cope with the guilt. As for the music I am looking for 2 types of pieces. Something dark and lonely and something experimental and disorientating. Regarding the first piece I am looking for something VERY similar to the Radiohead song “Hunting Bears.” Something with an electric guitar and dark backing synth. As for the second piece I am looking for something very disorientating, that would compliment the idea of loss of reality. A STRONG example of what I’m looking for is the Radiohead song “Like Spinning Plates” This is not a paid job. Please contact us for more if you are interested. Thank you.

Hi Drew,
I am studying for a degree in popular music & have just been given an assignment to score some original music for a short film. We have been given a choice of a few videos we can choose to work with but I thought I’d prefer to do something original & different to everybody else as I am interested in creating music for film/tv in the future, your film sounds really dark & intersting, 17 minutes would be perfect too.
I have all the neccessary equipment to work on it, if you could possibly send me the video I will watch it a few times to get inspired & will start working on the score straight away.. Also I’m a huge Radiohead fan, they are my favourite band & I know exactly what you mean in your post when you say something similar to ‘Hunting Bears’, I am a guitarist whose main inspiration is Jonny Greenwood & would love to work on music of this style.. I could also make a really disorientating piece of music for you in the same theme as ‘Like Spinning Plates’, I would use a lot of effects & reverse parts to achieve a similar sound..
I am really interested in creating music for TV/film in the future & would love to create a score in this style, if you are still looking for somebody to do it please get in touch. If it has already been done by now I would love to see it if possible? Would you possibly be able to send me a version without the music so I can create music for it solely for my assignment for my music degree?

I’m an electronic composer/producer and I think I can help you with this. I’m able to manage all aspects of production from first ideas to final master.
Radiohead style rock is not a problem. I’m a guitarist and frequently record myself for use in various compositions. I can also sing, if you are intending on using lyrics.

Hi Drew how are you?
I’m a composer and a music producer with my own fully equipped high definition studio. I’m a classically trained musician and can also play a half a dozen or more instruments. I have heard both of these Radiohead songs before and could provide what you are looking for in terms of your intriguing short film. I have many short samples in MP3 format located at my website but there are three you maybe particularly interested in. These MP3′s are ambientguitar.mp3, Bends.mp3 and Bends2.mp3. Most if not all of these mp3′s are WIP(work in progress) but they may give you some ideas. I look forward to hearing from you.

Hey Drew,
I am guessing you have already given this project to one of the previous responses, but if you have not, I would love to work with you. Even if you have already chosen someone, it would be great to do it anyways for practice and to give you another option with the music. I have experience recording/engineering/producing several local artists and scoring two film trailers. I am looking to take more steps towards scoring and this would be a great opportunity. Electronic/experimental music is right my alley and I would love to give the film a shot. Let me know if that would be possible!

Drew, I have just looked over the following responses and have a similar thought. I am a schooled musician with lots of experience arranging and composing from hip hop artists to professional concert bands. I have not done any film scoring before but do have the programs and know how to do so. It’s something i have been interested in doing for some time. I own a recording studio in the city. My music is very melodic and emotional. Even if you have given the project out i would be interested in working on it also.
