His themes emanate from college dorm rooms all over the world, yet no student has ever found it on the airwaves. His scores tell stories of action and suspense, but you’ve never heard them on a television show. Mustafa YAZICIOGLU an accomplished film scorer and game composer, likes things just as they are.

Today, Mustafa enjoys using more modern instruments in his private studio in Istanbul. Five different computers keep his studio and his business – Winter Night Music Productions (mtfyz studio) running. He uses Steinberg Nuendo as his main sequencing program. His collection of Roland gear continues to thrive. It includes a modified Juno, TB-303, and a JP-8080 Synth. To keep his product sounding fresh and competitive, Mustafa likes to have all the latest tools, both in hardware and software synths, plug-ins, sound modules, and sample libraries, available in his studio.

He explains how in a studio dominated by computers, soft-synths, and plug-ins helps him write. “There’s so much work involved with software before you get a good sound. You can spend hours trying to locate the right sound from a computer.Roland V-Synth and Virus-t have great presets. They have a lot of great sounds, and they’re good starting point. Virus-t is an instrument I get inspired with and use to come up with new musical ideas. It’s refreshing to have a piece of gear that you just play and it sounds great.”
